This week-long trek introduces you to the contrasting scenery in Carmausin-Ségala as you hike the GR36 and Gorges du Viaur GRP trails.
It takes you into the deep and leafy Viaur Valley as far as the Carmaux mining basin. On the way you’ll walk through the rolling Cérou Valley where you can visit the village of Monestiés. You’ll see the soil change to limestone outside Carmaux marking the start of the Cordais plateau and Gaillac vineyards.
Continue your walk from Carmaux to Albi by the open-pit and along the old railroad taking coal to Pelissier station.
